Job Description:

This organisation is looking for a Quantity Surveyor who is currently working their way through their APC Diary, to join their Practice in Barnsley. You will be carrying out the following:

• Extensions and refurbishments to schools, municipal buildings including listed buildings, new social builds and sheltered housing

• Condition surveys (schools, listed and municipal buildings)

• Capital maintenance works – Roofing, windows, doors and walls.

• Prepare feasibility studies, preliminary estimates, cost plans, databases, tender and other analysis on the economics of design at the early stages of a project.

• Provide advice on the use of whole life costing techniques.

• Assist in the project management of schemes, setting objectives, provide direction, control and advise on related matters including issuing progress reports and in post contract reviews.


Person Specification:

My Client requires an experienced Quantity Surveyor with excellent communication skills to undertake the role listed above.

• A team player with a ‘can do’ attitude with a track record of working with teams and managing workloads

• Professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Student or AssocRICS) and be working or prepared to work towards Chartered status – Essential

• Holds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain – Essential

• Knowledge of latest CDM Regulations - Essential

• Familiar with relevant construction, health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos – Essential

Employment Type: Permanent

Salary: £25,000 to £37,000 depending on experience + Flexi-time working hours + 5% Pension + Life Assurance x3 Annual salary + 27 holidays (+ bank hols)
