Job Description:

This presents a superb 'one off' opportunity for a competent Quantity Surveyor to experience life working Client side for a Yorkshire based University on a fixed term of 24 months (with potential to roll over).

The successful Candidate will work as part of a busy and expanding Estates Department, tasked with redeveloping the institution's educational facilities.

The role is to provide in-house cost management services on construction projects and evaluate proposals and the resources required for these works. This is to include:

~ Support the team with strategic cost management exercises.
~ Provide professional guidance to the team on procurement, and contractual and commercial matters.
~ Develop, procure and manage appropriate frameworks for contractor activity, construction related professional services, facilities management and energy supplies.
~ Maximise the performance of external suppliers through effective contract management.
~ To manage and provide an in-house cost management service for allocated construction-related projects throughout the project lifecycle.

Person Specification:

A competent Quantity Surveyor is required to join the Estates Department of this educational establishment on a fixed term of 24 months, with the potential for permanent work.

Applicants for this position will be well-versed surveying professionals, with exposure to a project entire life cycle. Experience of public sector work will be highly advantageous.

Degree-educated in a relevant field, you will also preferably be a Chartered professional with the RICS.

Candidates must be available for an immediate start.
