Job Description:

The Water and Environment team are looking to appoint a Drainage / Flood Risk Engineer with at least three years experience working on similar projects.

You will work within a team where you will be expected to take on responsibility at an early stage. Your involvement in and contribution to the project team which may include other disciplines within the company will be actively encouraged. You may also be involved directly with individual clients with whom you are expected to promote a positive working relationship and be expected to plan your own time and assist the team leader and project managers in determining the resource requirements for your work.

The team are currently working on diverse range of pre and post planning design, including Flood Risk Assessments, Hydraulic Modelling, Hydrology Assessments, SuDS, Drainage and Infrastructure design for a range of Private and Public sector Clients

Person Specification:

The candidates should ideally possess the following:

~ Minimum of three years’ experience of Flood Risk projects including Hydraulic Modelling and Hydrology Assessments

~ Previous experience of delivering flood risk projects for land development, regeneration and transportation

~ Planning, designing and implementing SUDS

~ Competent user of the following software packages; MicroDrainage and GIS

~ A good understanding of the responsibilities of water companies, local flood authorities and Environment Agency in relation to flood risk and drainage

~ A practical knowledge and experience of Drainage design, Assessment, and Maintenance work

~ Knowledge of using Flood Modeller and TUFLOW

Qualifications and experience;

You will be a graduate with enthusiasm about working in this field who possesses a Masters or Bachelor degree in a Civil Engineering or Water Management field. You will have excellent communication skills and be a team player.
