This leading Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Contractors are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work on live commercial & industrial projects which are located all over the country. As Senior Engineer you will be based in the West Yorkshire area but expected to travel to sites as and when needed on a regular basis. With support being provided by the project team, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate completion of your projects. You main duty is to ensure that the programme, safety and quality requirements of the project are met. This will be done through the regular monitoring and recording of the site progress. As a Senior you will have responsibility for the coordination of on site activities within their allocated area and you will assist the Site Manager with the production of method statements for construction activities. With this being a senior role, your duties will include liaising with clients and both main and sub-contractors. The role will be in charge of directly employed and sub-contracted staff, providing supervision on site for the installation of mechanical building services related systems, such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC).
This building services contractor requires applications from experienced Senior Mechanical Engineers within the construction industry. Being either Degree educated or coming from a modern apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering you can provide evidence of practical experience in the building services construction industry. Essential criteria includes practical experience and a good working knowledge in mechanical construction systems (heating, ventilation and air conditioning). A strong understanding of planning, quality control, budget management, on site health and safety and supplier and sub-contractor management is essential. As the projects you will be working on are based throughout the country you will be required to travel on a regular basis and should be flexible with regards to your working hours. Ideally, applicants will be located in either West Yorkshire or South Yorkshire and be able to commute to site daily.
