A independent Multi-disciplinary Environmental Consultancy established over 10 years ago who deliver cost effective, creative and integrated solutions from their offices throughout the UK. They have a wealth of experience delivering various developments including residential housing schemes, major infrastructure projects and renewable energy programs.
As an Associate Director Transport Planner you will be involved in a variety of project types for a range of private sector clients, all of which will require you to exercise your technical knowledge and liaise with Local Planning/Highway Authorities and Highways England.
The main emphasis of your role will be to establish and develop a Traffic and Transportation team which will complement their existing Civil & Geo-environmental team within their Sheffield office. Initially you will be expected to assist with existing Traffic and Transportation projects, whilst working with the Director to build on existing and new client relationships to generate business for the Department and other departments within the company. You will also assist with the identification of potential new staff to grow the Sheffield team in line with their workload requirements.
~ To work as part of a team and/or individually to deliver high quality transport planning, modelling and technical reports, and (where necessary) engineering designs/drawings
~ Supervision of staff, review, check and approve design calculations, drawings and outputs prepared by others
~ Project management and administration, including Preparation of fee proposals, Client liaison,
Resourcing and Invoicing reporting to the Board Directors as required
~ To develop and maintain an effective network of Client contacts
~ To assist in the recruitment of new staff
Degree qualified, and preferably Chartered, you will have a strong background in development planning, predominately spent with a private sector consultancy. You should have a track record of successful project delivery, and managing the preparation of fee proposals and project inputs.
In addition, a proven record of work winning, and the ability to lead the input on a wide range of projects, is essential. You should be comfortable in client negotiations, both in the private and public sectors. You will have a sound knowledge of existing and emerging policy and trends, junction modelling and preliminary design.
