As an Associate / Technical Director you will carry out a business critical role with your main responsibility being to manage the delivery of major infrastructure design schemes. You will assume overall project management responsibilities and support your teams of Engineers and Technicians. Actual hands-on technical work will be required as well as carrying out design reviews and checking of reports and drawings. You will take the lead in compiling tenders for new work and will be expected to take an active part in business development activities. Projects include large scale flood-alleviation works, roads & drainage, and SUDS schemes, as well as FRA's and Drainage Strategy documents for Planning. Relevant skills include: Road and sewer design to adoptable standards Surface water / foul water underground drainage design. Flood risk assessments / flood alleviation schemes. Coastal erosion flood breach analysis. Attenuation and discharge control systems. SUDS / swales / soakaway design / infiltration basins. Access and estate roads. S278 agreements. Competence with Civils 3D / Microdrainage.
To be considered for this role you will need to be a Chartered Civil Engineer with a background in the design and delivery of infrastructure projects (highways and drainage). You will need to have high expectations of yourself and the ability to manage and motivate those around you to achieve common goals. It is essential that you have good people and communication skills and you should be confident in a Client facing role. Any knowledge and experience working on regeneration or PFI projects would be an advantage.
