Job Description:


An Associate Director is required to join a multi-disciplinary office in West Yorkshire, within a Structures team consisting of 7 staff of varying levels. This is a very exciting opportunity to join an established office of 14 staff, that will OFFER future progression to Director level for the right candidate.

The role will encompass managing projects including allocated resources such as Principal Engineers, Senior Engineers, graduates and technicians. You will be responsible for managing the Structures team within the office on a day to day basis but also provide a mentoring role for the professional and personal development of all engineers and technicians.

You will oversee the day to day running of a number of projects, attend project meetings, be the daily contact for the client, contractor and other project consultants and be the technical lead for the design team.


Person Specification:


To apply for the position of Associate Director (Building Structures) you should have contacts within, and knowledge of the local marketplace. You should have an engineering related degree and should have achieved Chartered status within the IStructE and should be ambitious to develop this consultancy's workload.

You should be able to demonstrate the following points;

~ Strong leadership abilities, especially motivating, coaching staff and communicating a clear vision
~ Strong design capability
~ Ability to set goals and plans to fulfil corporate objectives
~ Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing across all levels of the organisation in a clear and concise manner
~ Highly developed organisational skills and ability to prioritise
~ Ability to adapt well to changing priorities and situations without a loss of effectiveness
~ Sound judgement, with decisive, consistent and fair decision making
~ Independent, highly motivated self-starter
